As an undergraduate in the UCLA Department of Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology, Grace McAuley, identified a critical step towards developing a therapy for a rare and deadly genetic condition that leaves babies completely defenseless against infections.

Today, the UCLA Broad Stem Cell Research Center, published this story, about Grace McAuley and her research with UCLA physician-scientist (distinguished professor of microbiology, immunology and molecular genetics), Dr. Donald Kohn.

McAuley is now in her first year of an M.D.-Ph.D. program at the UC San Diego School of Medicine.
