Stem cell gene therapy holds promise for eliminating HIV infection

In recent research led by UCLA life scientist, Jerome Zach, and Scott Kitchen, engineered stem cells successfully turned into functional T cells that could kill HIV-infected cells in mice, resulting in a 80-95% decrease in HIV levels.
