A cure for baldness? How Bruin genetic scientists are reawakening hibernating follicles

Today, UCLA Magazine published a hopeful story about a campus collaboration that’s developing a treatment for hair loss. Among the three scientists leading this effort is William Lowry, professor of molecular, cell and developmental biology.

With support from UCLA’s Technology Development Group, they formed Pelage Pharmaceuticals to bring the findings of their basic research to market.

Results from early human trails are encouraging, and larger trials are slated to come.
