The Gold Shield Faculty Prize is awarded to an outstanding UCLA faculty member every year, alternating between north and south campus.  Prize recipients are selected by a committee of peers appointed by the Academic Senate– and by student and Gold Shield representatives. As part of the prize for their extraordinary accomplishments, awardees receive $30,000 to be used for scholarly purposes.
