How Bruin genetic scientists are reawakening hibernating follicles (A UCLA Magazine Story)

Today, UCLA Magazine released an intriguing story about a campus collaboration that’s developing a promising treatment for hair loss. The scientists leading this effort are William Lowry, professor of molecular, cell and developmental biology; Heather Christofk, professor of biological chemistry; and Michael Jung, distinguished professor of chemistry.

With support from UCLA’s Technology Development Group, they formed Pelage Pharmaceuticals to bring the findings of their basic research to market. Results from early human trails have been encouraging – and larger trials are slated to come.
