Today, the UCLA Newsroom reports on a special issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, focused on climate change and sustainability in California. This publication was led by UCLA Distinguished Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Glen MacDonald, and San Diego State University professor Janet Franklin.
Drawing on expertise from multiple areas of concern (ranging from environmental justice and natural environments to agriculture and human health) the publication reviews the impacts and challenges of climate change in California, while calling for hope as it offers opportunities for climate adaptation, mitigation, and resilience for our state’s ecological, social, and economic sustainability.
